Satomi Kōrogi

Satomi Kōrogi (Japanese: こおろぎさとみ Koorogi Satomi) (born November 14, 1962) is a Japanese voice actress who is known for her numerous voice roles in anime, video games and dubs of foreign productions. She is currently the voice of Starfy and the Mermaid, and while she mostly just does a few vocal sounds for them in the games, she does full voice roles for them in the animated commercials and TV spots. She also does voice works for Nintendo's other series Pokémon, such as voicing many Pokémon and humans from the Pokémon anime and Pokémon from the Super Smash Bros. series (most notably Togepi and Pichu in all media, and most recently Mew in all its latest appearances).

Biography

She is affiliated with Production Baobab, a Japanese voice acting management firm which has aided her in her occupation. She currently lives in Musashino, Tokyo, Japan. She is the voice of Snarf in the 2011 Thundercats remake.

Trivia

  • Starpedo (transformation of Starfy)'s voice has been compared as very similar aesthetically to the Pokémon species Togepi, with Togepi's "tic" like sounds. Satomi Kōrogi also voiced Togepi in media, but whether the similarities just came subconsciously or if it was an intentional reference to Togepi is unclear. (see also: voice clip rips)
