			Recently, mass waves of spam have become an issue again. What are our thoughts on this? Should the spam continue to be vetted manually, or should there be a stricter autoconfirm, or is there another option/approach to this? While it's tempting to add tighter locking, I have mixed thoughts on it; because both the spammers can still circumvent it (whether it be circumventing a Captcha, waiting until "autoconfirmed" (a user group) is enabled. The only exception might be something like NintendoWiki (NIWA) (but some may find that elitist too - the concept that before an edit is published a staff member has to manually check it (it depends on the community so made this section for opinions)). On the other hand, the volume of spam would be expected to decrease and it requires less commitment from the staff (or patrollers).
