Huffinfluff (White-san in Japan) is a giant cloud-like creature in The Legendary Starfy who wears a straw hat and sleeps most of the time. They are found in Skydye Heights. A display of Huffinfluff's current state replaces the touch screen tool when Starfy is in the same room as Huffinfluff. When Starfy wakes them up by ringing bells, they blow leaves which make Starfy rise. This ability is required to progress through the level. Eventually, Huffinfluff will calm down and fall asleep again if the bells are left alone.
Trivia
*In the English version of The Legendary Starfy, on the Stage 6-3 quiz set by Moe's siblings, the two answers for the "What's the name of the cloud guy?" question are Mr. Clouds and Huffinfluff (the correct answer), but in the Japanese version of The Legendary Starfy Mr. Clouds is referred to as "雲おじさん". This may be a reference to the character called Kumo Ojisan in Densetsu no Starfy 4.
*Also in the Japanese version of the same quiz, the wording 「雲のかたちをした子の名前は？」 is used for the above question. The 子/Ko of this question is often used for girls and is popularly used in feminine names.
* In the Japanese version of their Toy description, it's stated that her straw hat is a gift from their father.
Old Man Lobber (Rob-jiisan in Japan, romanized in [[Super Smash Bros.
He lives or used to live in a cave located on a small island called Lobber's Cave. In Densetsu no Starfy 4 he lives in a villa in the Amiy Kingdom. In The Legendary Starfy, he is found in Hotcha Springs as well as the hidden ??? stage.

Biography
Background
During his youth, he along with Starfy's father saved the world from the evil demon Ogura and sealed him inside a magic jar, thus bringing peace. Much of his life after that is unknown and he seemed to have not have had much contact with Starfy's father after the latter became the king of Pufftop and had Starfy. He also knows Old Man Vern from when he was young.

Densetsu no Starfy
Old Man Lobber finds Starfy after he fell out of Pufftop. He takes Starfy to his home to practice his basic abilities. After Starfy leaves Old Man Lobber's house they meet again much later in the game. Old Man Lobber tells Starfy and Moe more about Ogura at this point.
clr

Densetsu no Starfy 2
After falling out of Pufftop again, Starfy and Moe go to Lobber's Cave to ask him for advice on how to rescue Mama Star, who has been kidnapped by Ogura as payback for Starfy sealing him in the Jar during the events of Starfy 1. Old Man Lobber had already received word of the situation, but tells the duo to not be hasty as Starfy would stand no chance as he is. Old Man Lobber then puts up signs so Starfy could remember his basic Abilities and waits for Starfy further into the cave. When Starfy meets up with Lobber, he shows Starfy a treasure chest which holds one of Pufftop’s Stuff inside, believing that it may be a memento Starfy can follow to find his mother.

spoiler

During the events of World 11, Ogura’s Castle, Starfy and Moe eventually get caught in a poison gas trap that renders them unconscious. A mysterious figure (Lobber) then saves them from the trap, and explains in an anonymous note that they need to hit blocks to match the shape shown on the block over the room’s respective exit. The mysterious figure continues to leave anonymous notes throughout the remaining stages until 11-6. Starfy challenges Ogura but cannot damage him. Ogura then ends the battle handily, leaving Starfy hurt and defenseless. Moe tries to protect Starfy, but to no avail. Ogura, cloaked in flames, charges towards the duo, but before Ogura can finish them off, Lobber saves both of them and threatens to re-seal Ogura in the Jar if he does not put a stop to his evil ways. Ogura recalls his fight with a younger Lobber and Papa Star and angrily challenges Lobber to a fight. After a brief, but intense clash, neither of the two defeats the other, but Ogura flees further into the castle, heavily weakened. After a brief conversation, Lobber gives the duo the Jar and sends them off to fight and defeat Ogura.

During the events of the post game, Lobber informs Starfy of other things he can collect besides Treasures. Those items being Sheet Music and Stuff he has yet to find (both of which can be found in the stages the player played through during the main game. Ex. The Sheet Music for the Opening Theme is in 1-1, while refighting certain bosses, like Puchi Ogura #2, rewards the player with Stuff.)
Densetsu no Starfy 3
After falling out of Pufftop for the third time Starfy, Moe, and Starly start the adventure by visiting Old Man Lobber. After the events of the opening, the trio no longer have the Jar to once again defeat Ogura, so they seek out Lobber’s guidance. Lobber, initially shocked by the idea that there’s a villain stronger than Ogura, tells Starfy to read signs and remember his Abilities as usual. When Starfy meets with Lobber again, Lobber tells him that in spite of not having the Jar, that by meeting with allies and becoming stronger on his adventure, he will find a solution. Later, during the events of Misty Town, the mist causes Ogura to remember his first fight against a younger Papa Star and Lobber, and gets angry, saying that he won’t lose this time, and boasting that by working with that man, no one will stand a chance against him.

Densetsu no Starfy 4
After hearing about the distress in the Amiy Kingdom from Mattel, Starfy returns to the sea along with Moe and Starly where they accidentally fall on Old Man Lobber's bonsai tree. Like in previous games he puts up signs for Starfy to remember his basic Abilities, but also asks him to bring him his Bonsai Repair Kit so he can tend to his damaged bonsai. After returning with the Repair Kit, Lobber tells the trio to travel to other Cities to discover the identity of the person who stole the Mon Amour Stone, and gives them the Striped Swimsuit. During the events prior to entering the fourth stage of Lobber's Villa, Lobber receives a call from Lovely and the others (Savako and Manianko) and tells Starfy, Starly, and Moe to head to the Tree of Beginnings. When Starly asks where it is, Lobber holds up a rose that he says houses a fairy that could warp them directly to the second world. However, before Lobber could hand them the rose, Konk steals it and says that he’ll give it to Ruby, who will become his bride.

spoiler

During post game, if the player interacts with Lobber’s icon, he will tell Starfy and Starly how to defeat “True Dejeel” (しんデジール, Shin Dejeel in JP, lit. True Dejeel). He tells them that by collecting 36 Answer Cards to open the Tobira Majin King. They can do this by scouring stages for them, and by correctly solving the riddles given by Tobira Majin, they can open up new areas that my hold other Answer Cards.
The Legendary Starfy
In The Legendary Starfy, he is first encountered in Hotcha Springs where he will give advice to Starfy to help him along his journey. Throughout the game the player can access a special feature called Lobber's Logbook on the bottom screen which keeps record of all the player's achievements.
Boss
After beating all ten worlds of The Legendary Starfy, and beating certain time limits in each level of the last stage (???), Starfy will be able to fight Old Man Lobber as a hidden, optional boss in Stage 10-7, known as Master Lobber (Japanese: マスター • ロブ) in this particular case. He is fought underwater and challenges Starfy, as a test to see how much he has progressed in his adventure, and how much he is worthy of his title of prince of Pufftop. Master Lobber will initially attack by holding up an energy shield around him and then charging at Starfy. If he dashes into the middle of the room, he will shoot Starfy with a shower bullets resembling something from Touhou.

When Master Lobber has one or two health points remaining, he will turn gold and use his "Clakkity" move, which involves charging at Starfy and crushing him. Old Man Lobber is invincible while he is gold, though he will eventually wear himself out, stop charging at Starfy, lose his golden hue and become vulnerable again. If Old Man Lobber touches Starfy while he is gold, Starfy will instantly lose all of his health points and receive a Game Over. This attack is very difficult to avoid compared to the attacks of other bosses fought prior to the main game's completion. To dodge this move, Starfy will have to perform a Turbo Swim in the right direction, for example by performing a Turbo Swim towards the top or bottom of the area when he is initially heading left or right and making Master Lobber charge off of the screen.
Endspoiler

Toy Description
“Have you discovered the golden version of Old Man Lobber? He used to be a fighting master. Now Old Man Lobber offers wisdom to all of us!”
In Densetsu no Starfy 3, according to the bonsai accessory in the Stuff, Old Man Lobber had a very precious bonsai that appears to have been destroyed with scissors.
In Densetsu no Starfy 4, he got a new bonsai tree. ==Trivia==
*Old Man Lobber, like many old men in the series, uses the pronoun Washi in Japanese.
*Near the beginning of Densetsu no Starfy 4, Old Man Lobber says when no one is there that thanks to Starfy and others Ogura and Evil were defeated. He may actually be breaking the fourth wall because the word 'minna' (hiragana:"みんな") meaning 'everyone' is used at the beginning of the sentence. The full sentence is "みんな　スタフィーたちが オーグラやイーブルを たおしてくれたおかげじゃな".
*In the Japanese version of The Legendary Starfy, Lobber’s insta-kill attack reads 海老式最終奥義 (Ebishiki Saishu Ougi), which loosely translates to Lobster Style: Ultimate Technique.
*According to the Japanese version of Old Man Vern's Moe Show episode, he and Vern used to play together up in Pufftop when they were younger, meaning that he, Vern, and Papa Star could all have been childhood friends.
**In the same Moe Show episode, it's also revealed that Lobber was pretty popular with girls when he was younger.

Story
spoiler
While Starfy is sleeping in his bed, he is suddenly awoken by a rabbit-like creature in a spacesuit that crashes through his ceiling. Three shady goons appear and try to capture the creature, but Starfy fights them off using his Star Spin. The three figures vow revenge and leave and the rabbit creature runs away. Starfy wants to help him, and so follows his trail to the edge of Pufftop. Starfy's best friend Moe appears and discourages Starfy from helping it. Before they know it, they slip off the edge of Pufftop and plummet into the sea, beginning Starfy's adventure. Starfy and Moe go through Gluglug Lagoon, where they find Big Squiddy is holding the creature. After chasing Big Squiddy down, the creature gives Starfy the Monstar ability, which he uses to free the creature, who believes they are allied with the three goons and runs to Hotcha Springs. After defeating Big Squiddy, they go there and find out the creature is named Bunston. He joins them because he finds that a shard found by Starfy helps him regain his memory, which reveals that he is the prince of a planet called Bunnera, which was attacked by goons. Bunston learns that he can give Starfy the Monstar ability. The three are then attacked by the Hot-Spring Snapper. Starfy proceeds to defeat it, and finds another shard. The three go to Chillydip Cove, where Bunston learns the Starpedo ability. From two seals called Piplion and Puplion, they learn that King Ping and his penguin goons have been troubling the area. Starfy defeats King Ping and finds a Shard, and the three are launched to Sogwood Forest. There they meet the goons that attacked Bunston in the beginning, who turn out to be the "Terrible Trio" of Snips, Ronk, and Papes and they want to kidnap Bunston. Starfy battles Papes, and after defeating him takes his Shard, which causes Bunston to remember his spaceship. Starfy and his friends go to Glitzem Grotto, where they find Ronk and defeat him. Then he and Papes try to use a minecart to defeat Starfy, but once again he triumphs. Bunston then remembers that the Terrible Trio shot him down over Pufftop and that the shards are pieces of his ship. The three friends find out that they must collect the remaining shards so that Bunston can save his planet. They fall into Skydye Heights, where the final member of the Terrible Trio, Snips, is lurking with another shard. After defeating her, the player finds out the Trio's real boss has taken Bunnera and Bunston is the last Bunneran left, so the Terrible Trio was sent to capture him. As the heroes head to the S.S. Logwater to find the last shard, the Trio regroups, and thinks about giving up, but their boss threatens them into continuing, so they follow. Starfy makes it past a giant snark called Mega Snark, only to find the Terrible Trio again. Starfy defeats all three again, but they try to use a "secret weapon" against him called the Paper-Cut Crusher. In order for Starfy to defeat The Terrible Trio during this attack, he must beat them in a Rock-Paper-Scissors game. When Starfy beats them at this, he, Moe, and Bunston take off for Bunnera. It is revealed that the Bunnerans could shapeshift because of a power inside them, which is how he transformed to help Starfy. The Trio's boss, who it turns out is the space pirate Mashtooth, wanted to absorb this power to become powerful enough to take over the galaxy, and to do that he requires Bunston. This is why he sent Snips, Ronk, and Papes after Bunston. When Bunnera Castle was attacked, Bunston fled in his spaceship.
Items
Unlike previous games in the series, The Legendary Starfy has relatively few Items. Items in this game are not listed in any Items menu, except for Heart Gems which are stored on Bunston's Collection. Bunston's Collection stores up to three at a time but momentarily for a third. When a third Heart Gem is collected the Heart Gem icons are removed.

Bunston's Powers are also listed on Bunston's Collection and the Collection. Icons of the powers are added to the menu whenever the player obtains the relevant Transforming Stone, or in the case of Monstar when Bunston's Collection is first unlocked. If the player has an upgraded Transforming Stone, a star is marked next to the icon.

After clearing areas, Moe's siblings will appear at some point in previously cleared areas to ask Starfy questions. These are known as quizzes.

Additionally, there have been two different types of quizzes relating to The Legendary Starfy.

The first quiz, Moe's Character Advice is a Flash game hosted on the official Japanese mini-site for The Legendary Starfy. It asks a series of questions to determine what character the player is most like.

The second quiz is called the "Starly search question" and is not digital. It is asked in one of the Moe's Corner (Japanese: キョロスケのおまけコーナー, Kyorosuke's Extra Corner) messages in the manual, and the player has to count how many times Starly appears. The answer is fifteen times.
Trivia
Note: This section contains some mature content. Viewer discretion is advised.

*Ronk, Papes, and Snips' names are a parody of Rock Paper Scissors where Ronk is rock, Papes is paper, and Snips is scissors.
*In Stage 9, a Pufftop guard said that two people who were like Starfy and Moe fell off of Pufftop 10 years ago. This may imply that there was once a grand adventure near Pufftop before Starfy was born.
*The Boss level "Get Ready to Ronk", is a reference to the phrase "get ready to rock".
*The artwork of the game make the characters look like plush dolls, unlike the previous games.
*All the games from the The Legendary Starfy series are referenced by various Pufftop Guards and Starly in the Pufftop Legends.
*This is the first and only game except the one instance in Densetsu no Starfy 4 which all the transformations shares the same life bar as Starfy and it is possible to get damaged and continue crossing a room in a level with a transformation without returning to the beginning of the room.
*The Nintendo DS menu game icon for The Legendary Starfys filename is "stafy4_icon", even though this is the fifth game.
*According to a Kotaku article about Nintendo Treehouse, a division of Nintendo responsible for game localization, a "Bihldorff" reveals that during the localization of The Legendary Starfy, the team encountered an error where in a line for "one of the ancillary characters", there was profanity. This error was apparently quickly removed from the game after it was discovered. It is not known however if this was confused for an English prototype of the original Game Boy Advance game.
*It is believed that the English version of The Legendary Starfy and Kirby's Return to Dream Land may have used the same font as a basis.
