::We've almost got articles for all the minigames done but I was having trouble with the name of a certain minigame in ''[[Densetsu no Starfy 2]]'' (おとしちゃダメダメ, Otoshicha Dame Dame?) I now have a lot of free time, so feel more confident to invest time into something like this. I wouldn't feel confident in trying to translate an RPG, but I thought that ideally a preliminary translation of ''[[Densetsu no Starfy]]'' could be made to include what we already have and know, including enemy names, character names, stage names, and DWJ's text for Stage 1 and maybe built on through time.

Hi {{user|Star Light}}! I was wondering if you could help with something. In ''[[Densetsu no Starfy 3]]'', the game manual calls the [[Map (Areas)|Map]] the Area Select. I don't know whether it has the same name in ''[[Densetsu no Starfy 2]]'', and the [[Nintendo Official Guidebook]] doesn't seem to say. I don't have the manual for ''Densetsu no Starfy 2'' and only the game. Do you have the manual? If so, could you check for a name for the Area Select to see if it is the same? I have a feeling it might not be because it is a map. Thanks.

:Good to see you again, Torchickens! I'm glad you spoke to me because the Starfy Wiki has been on my mind recently. As you probably guessed, I'm not really active here anymore. The last time we spoke, I mentioned that I left a lot of websites. At that time, I considered leaving the Starfy Wiki as well. The main reason I didn't was because I felt like I really had a place here compared to every other site I was on at the time. There was more to why I left than what I initially said, but I wasn't really ready to talk about it at the time. 2015 and 2016 was really rough for my family. I won't go into detail of why, but I will say that it really took a mental toll on me. Around the same time, I was running into the more toxic people of the internet more often. Eventually, I decided I couldn't take it anymore and nearly cut out my entire internet life. The good news is that taking somewhat of a break from the internet helped! In the past few years, I've also gotten a better idea of what I want to do with my life and what I thought I wanted to do. The Starfy series still has a place in my heart. The problem is so do many other series. When I currently feel passionate about one series, it's hard to focus on the other ones I like. This is another reason I became inactive. Now that I've had some experience working on a Wiki, I've seen that it's not what I'm meant to do long term and that's okay. I still haven't decided what exactly this means for my place here, but I feel like you gave me a good excuse to get this off my chest. So thanks for that and sorry for rambling! To tell you the truth, it's a little hard for me to really come back here. ==History (series)==
I heard about the series roughly in 2004. I was already interested in the series, but had no means to get the games at the time. Eventually when the Legendary Starfy came out in America, my brother got it and he let me play it a lot. I then got the still-Japanese-only games one by one. About a year or so later, I got the first two volumes of Yumiko Sudō's Starfy manga. That's about it really.
==History (wiki)==
It all started when I was looking for something Starfy related on the internet. Unfortunately I do not remember what I was looking for. Possibly a Starfy fan-site or forum. I ended up finding the Starfy Wiki. I took a look around and thought it looked nice, but could use more work. I just left believing I wouldn't be any help. A couple days later I went back for reasons I don't remember. By this time, I already knew more about the Japanese Starfy games than the average non-Japanese Starfy fan. As I looked around I found a flaw in Ogura's article. I couldn't help fixing it, and since I knew I could do it anonymously I fixed the problem. Then after I got the welcome message saying that registered users have more options and get credited for edits, I decided to register so I could help out more. I thought "Why not? There's no other site like this and I could really help with information about the Japan-only games! This site doesn't seem popular, so it's not like I could make it worse." I used the name I always use when it's available. As I started editing a lot I learned how to make links, templates, categoies, etc. I started to go crazy with adding info and articles no matter if the wiki was active or quiet, but useful info. Info that to my surprise no one else seemed to know! Many moons rose and set... [[User:The Forgotten Beast|The Forgotten Beast]] noticed my high knowledge of the Japanese games and recommended me as an admin on the wiki! Eventually I did become an admin. There you have it! My Starfy Wiki history!

I don't know whether it has the same name in ''[[Densetsu no Starfy 2]]'', and the [[Nintendo Official Guidebook]] doesn't seem to say. I don't have the manual for ''Densetsu no Starfy 2'' and only the game. Do you have the manual? If so, could you check for a name for the Area Select to see if it is the same? :Good to see you again, Torchickens! I'm glad you spoke to me because the Starfy Wiki has been on my mind recently. As you probably guessed, I'm not really active here anymore. The last time we spoke, I mentioned that I left a lot of websites. At that time, I considered leaving the Starfy Wiki as well. The main reason I didn't was because I felt like I really had a place here compared to every other site I was on at the time. There was more to why I left than what I initially said, but I wasn't really ready to talk about it at the time. 2015 and 2016 was really rough for my family. I won't go into detail of why, but I will say that it really took a mental toll on me. Around the same time, I was running into the more toxic people of the internet more often. Eventually, I decided I couldn't take it anymore and nearly cut out my entire internet life. The good news is that taking somewhat of a break from the internet helped! In the past few years, I've also gotten a better idea of what I want to do with my life and what I thought I wanted to do. The Starfy series still has a place in my heart. The problem is so do many other series. When I currently feel passionate about one series, it's hard to focus on the other ones I like. This is another reason I became inactive. Now that I've had some experience working on a Wiki, I've seen that it's not what I'm meant to do long term and that's okay. I still haven't decided what exactly this means for my place here, but I feel like you gave me a good excuse to get this off my chest. So thanks for that and sorry for rambling! Moe rips a branch off of Yugudorajii while he's asleep and uses it as a tent peg. During the night, Starfy and Moe hear Yugudorajii moaning in pain. Starfy puts a bandage on him to help him feel better. Yugudorajii thanks Starfy by giving him fruit. Yugudorajii tells Starfy and Moe that he hasn't seen anything in the forest for a long time because people were afraid of him. Moe mentions Ogura during the conversation. Yugudorajii tells them that he's seen Ogura going to a mountain. Starfy and Moe decide to go that way. Yugudorajii is sad to see them go, but Starfy promises they'll return. Ogura sets the forest on fire once Starfy and Moe leave. They see it before they get to far and turn back. Starfy puts out the fire by adding the lake's water to his [[Star Spin]], but Yugudorajii had already burned down. Starfy believes Yugudorajii is gone, but a new smaller Yugudorajii appears from the spot where Moe put the branch tent peg.

It is located somewhere below [[Pufftop|Pufftop Palace]], although it is apparently in a different dimension.

In the events of [[DSM01|chapter 1]] ("Going to the Human World Fii!"), [[Starfy]] and [[Old Man Lobber]] ended up in the Human World after Starfy dropped the [[Jar]] through the window and both Starfy and Old Man Lobber jumped through the window to retrieve it.

Located in the Human World is a school which Takeo and Rumi-chan attend and a Pachinko Plaza (Japanese: パチンコプラザ). There is also a house where either Takeo or Rumi-chan lives as well as a swimming pool.

In the events of [[DSM03|chapter 3]] ("Not Afraid of Water Fii!"), [[Konk]] appeared at the swimming pool and created a portal that leads to Starfy and Old Man Lobber's dimension from the Human World. When Starfy and Old Man Lobber fell through the portal it returned them back to their world. Takeo later fell through as well and temporarily stayed at Starfy and Old Man Lobber's world before returning back to the Human World.

The '''school''' is a place in the Human World that [[Takeo]], [[Rumi-chan]] and other humans attend. It appeared in chapter one of volume one, "Going to the Human World Fii!". There is a room with lockers there, as well as toilets and a rooftop floor. Takeo ran away with the [[jar]] into the toilet, worried that Starfy and Old Man Lobber would find it. When Takeo made it to the rooftop floor, Starfy and Old Man Lobber were there. While running off with the jar, Takeo trips on a floor panel and falls off the edge of the rooftop with the jar. Old Man Lobber asks Starfy to use his [[Star Spin]], so he jumps off the rooftop using his Star Spin to get Takeo. Takeo asks for help and Starfy continues using his Star Spin, but in the end he decides to carry Takeo and rescue him. However, the Jar breaks and evil comes out of the Jar.

====Pachinko Plaza====
The '''Pachinko Plaza''' (Japanese: パチンコプラザ) is a [[wikipedia:pachinko|pachinko]] plaza in the Human World that appeared in chapter two of volume one of the ''Densetsu no Starfy'' manga illustrated by Yumiko Sudō''. Starfy and Old Man Lobber thought it was a castle but Takeo knew it wasn't and seemed embarrassed to point it out to them.

Old Man Lobber and Starfy walk in it, only for someone from the Pachinko Plaza to pick them up and bring them out again. He asks if Takeo is a robot then punches the top of his head and angrily walks back in to the plaza, telling him to play elsewhere.

The '''house''' is a place Takeo, Starfy and Old Man Lobber go to in chapter two, [[DSM02|I'm a Prince Fii!]]. There, he introduces Starfy and Old Man Lobber to a dog, probably named "Pes" (Japanese: ペス). Old Man Lobber says the house is pretty nice and Starfy agrees. After Starfy made himself [[dizziness|dizzy]] and ill from spinning around, he rested in a bed in the house. Later, Starfy and Old Man Lobber went to eat food there but Starfy tipped over the bowl looking for money.

====Swimming pool====
A '''swimming pool''' in the Human World. It first appeared in a dream in Takeo's dream in chapter three of volume one, where he dreamed that he was drowning in the pool. Later in the chapter, Rumi-chan actually invites Starfy, Old Man Lobber and Takeo to play together in the pool. Takeo is worried because he cannot swim but Rumi-chan says that Starfy will be a good coach and Takeo goes anyway, with Old Man Lobber on his head. [[Konk]] appears there so Starfy attacks him with his [[Star Spin]] and he lands on Takeo's swimming trunks, hurting him.

Konk uses his shell like a drill to push Takeo back in the pool and continues to drill into him, making Starfy cry and for some reason, Konk starts to cry as well. Old Man Lobber talks to Konk and makes him feel better but Konk makes a portal in the pool that leads back into Starfy's world and Starfy, Old Man Lobber, Konk, as well as Takeo fall through it. Rumi-chan comes back with the juice but is surprised to find that the others aren't there.

The home of Starfy, [[Mama Star]], [[Papa Star]] and the [[Pufftop Guard]]s. Old Man Lobber used to reside there even though [[Lobber's Cave|he has a cave of his own]]. In volume 2, [[Moe]] also visits Pufftop Palace there despite having [[Moe's House|his own house]].

====Unnamed beach====
A beach that Starfy, Old Man Lobber, Takeo and Konk arrive in after they go through Konk's portal that connects the [[Human World]] with Starfy's world. It appears in chapter three of volume one, [[DSM03|Not Afraid of Water Fii!]]

====[[Stranded Whale]]====
A place set inside of [[The Whale|a whale]]. The whale swallowed Starfy and Old Man Lobber after Old Man Lobber was holding a coconut he prepared for Starfy. Starfy loses Old Man Lobber inside the whale. Although he escapes, he isn't seen again until chapter six of volume one, [[DSM06|We'll Absolutely Meet Again Fii!]] but Starfy doesn't get to meet Old Man Lobber in person until chapter three of volume two, [[DSM11|Nostalgic Reunion Fii!]].

This is where Starfy meets [[Moe]] in this series of manga, unlike in ''[[Densetsu no Starfy]]'' where Starfy meets Moe in [[Coral Reef]]. [[Bankirosu]] is found in the whale. Starfy defeats it by making it jump into the spikes.

====[[Sea of Ice]]====
A cold sea that Starfy and Moe visit in chapter five of volume one, [[DSM05|Search for Treasure Fii!]] while Moe is looking for something sparkly for [[Ruby]].

Moe found a [[Treasure|Treasure Box]] full of sparkling diamonds in Kuriore's Iceberg for Ruby, but unfortunately water from the hot spring went inside the Treasure Box and the diamonds started to melt. Moe then knocked the Treasure Box away and all the remaining diamonds fell into the sea.

Kuriore's Iceberg is revisited via the [[Pufftop Vehicle]] in the eleventh and final chapter of volume two, [[DSM19|The Sealed Jar and the Big Disturbance Fii!]].

In the main room of Gekojii's house, he keeps pharmaceutical equipment and boxes full of drugs called [[Power Up Drink]]s that give power to whoever drinks them. Starfy used the help of two Power Up Drinks to rescue [[Gekojii's grandson]] who had been hibernating in a cold cave up the second waterfall.

A cave in chapter four of volume two — [[DSM12|Courage Wars Fii!]], with lots of fish and a sign saying that the cave is dangerous and entrance is forbidden. Starfy and Moe went to fish there regardless of the sign's warning and Starfy caught a vicious, big spiky fish. Starfy attempts to attack the fish, but the fish smacks him and jumps back in the water. This made Moe whimper in fear. When Starfy asks if he was hiding, Moe tries to prove he is braver and this puts both Starfy and Moe into dangerous situations. On two occasions, they are saved by [[Ootaruika]] who lives in a house in the cave. He is angry at Starfy and Moe for ignoring the sign and their foolish behavior.

Ootaruika talked to the photograph to express his bad experience with Starfy and Moe. Starfy left behind a shell he caught with a fishing rod earlier there after seeing Ootaruika crying in his house, probably feeling sorry for him.

A place surrounded by rocks and the sea found in chapter six of volume two — [[DSM13|Get Back Mama Fii!]]. It is also close to [[Ogura Castle]], which exists on a very small island. At the beginning of this chapter, Starfy finds a bottle with a video tape inside, which turns out to be a message from Mama Star to Starfy to say that she's in Ogura Castle. After Starfy rescues Mama Star, he sends tape messages in bottles in to the sea but once they're done, Moe realizes the Jar is missing. Starfy then panics and believes he put it in one of the bottles.

There is a restaurant there and Moe naughtily thought of eating without paying because he didn't have any money. [[Wario]] was then already being chased by Chuta and had his treasure map blow away. Moe picks up Wario's treasure map and he and Starfy decide to look for treasure in an unnamed cave instead. When Moe found treasure, he used it to eat at the restaurant but Wario and Starfy attacked him, presumably for the treasure.

A cave Wario intended to go to in the eighth chapter of the second volume — [[DSM16|With Wario, this is the Best Tag Team Fii!]], to look for treasure. Starfy and Moe found it by using Wario's treasure map but they were separated from each other after Starfy landed on a hidden button that activates a trap door. Moe happened to be laying on the trap door so he fell through it. Wario later appeared so he and Starfy team up to look for treasure. Although they didn't find it, Moe apparently found the treasure and used it eat at the restaurant in the unnamed town.

A forest where [[Yugudorajii]] lives that is seen in the ninth chapter of the second volume, [[DSM17|Meeting a Friendly Tree Fii!]]. [[Ogura]] tried to burn it down, until Starfy stopped him by adding the lake's water to his [[Star Spin]] to stop the fire. Though the old Yugudorajii ceased to exist, a new one was born because Moe had planted a branch in the ground.

A town near a hill that appears in the tenth chapter of the second volume, [[DSM18|Mines are Dangerous Fii!]]. There are various houses there. All of the residents of the town were evacuated to the top of a hill, including [[The Squirts]], the [[Hokwi Group]], [[Sir Hokwi]], and some [[Taruika]] after mines were placed in the town by [[Ogura]] but Starfy and Moe smelled delicious food coming from a table in a house so went to see it.

When Sir Hokwi and the Hokwi Group find Starfy, they decide to search for mines and Starfy helps them...

A sea and beach that appears in the eleventh and final chapter of the second volume, [[DSM19|The Sealed Jar and the Big Disturbance Fii!]]. Starfy and Moe were swimming in the sea until they saw a [[Pufftop Guard]] above them near the beach riding something called the [[Pufftop Vehicle]] above the sky while holding a long jar. Starfy asks if it is a regular jar, and the Pufftop Guard says it isn't. Starfy then thinks that it's dangerous and writes 'do not touch (金)' on it with a marker.

Meanwhile, Ogura is watching Starfy and the Pufftop Guard and picks up on the fact that the longer jar might be dangerous. Ogura comes over and knocks it out of Starfy's hand. Moe grabs the jar in anger and tries to stop Ogura from using it but Ogura takes the cork out of the jar and it sucks up Starfy and the Pufftop Vehicle.

[[Starfy]] with the [[Pufftop Vehicle]] and [[Ogura]] were sucked inside a long jar that a [[Pufftop Guard]] was holding in the eleventh and final chapter of the second volume, [[DSM19|The Sealed Jar and the Big Disturbance Fii!]] after Moe grabbed the jar in anger and tried to stop Ogura from using it but Ogura took the cork out of the jar.

The world inside the jar is similar to Starfy's world, but without any living things.

After Starfy wakes up from inside the jar, he arrives at a beach with stepping stones that lead to the town seen in the eighth chapter of the second volume — [[DSM16|With Wario, this is the Best Tag Team Fii!]] but he finds that nobody there but then he sees Ogura flying away laughing and has no choice but to chase after him with the Pufftop Vehicle.

He starts to think everyone was defeated by Ogura, so Starfy flies over to seven places to check including seven previously shown locations; [[List of manga locations#Gekojii's House/Gekojii's Cave|Gekojii's house]], [[List of manga locations#Moe's House|Moe's House]], [[List of manga locations#Lobber's Cave|Lobber's Cave]], [[Okonomiyaki Town]] and [[Kuriore's Iceberg]], as well as Lovely's Shop and indeed finds that no one is there.

Starfy then visited Pufftop and found Ogura but Ogura knocked Starfy off Pufftop and towards some spikes only for Starfy to be saved by a rope that pulls him out of the jar. It turns out that he was pulled out of the jar by Moe.

They tell him they're fine, but he calls them idiots and throws them out of the cave. Later Ootaruika saves Starfy from spiked fish after Starfy attempted to save Moe, who had slipped into the water, but ended up putting himself in danger. Starfy and Moe tell Ootaruika that he was courageous, but Ootaruika is still mad at them and tosses them out of the cave again. Ootaruika is later seen going inside [[Ootaruika's House|his house]]. Starfy and Moe secretly follow him, but they leave shortly once they see him crying by a picture of [[Ootaruika's son|his son]]. Starfy leaves his seashell he caught while fishing behind. Below is a table of [[enemies]] and [[characters]] which appear in the ''[[Densetsu no Starfy 4]]'' [[Toys|Picture Book]]. Moe's comments have been taken from [http://blog.goo.ne.jp/akiko53_2004 Akiko53's blog].

The Picture Book is accessible in [[Moe's House]] after defeating [[Dejiru]] for the first time and can be updated by locating and defeating certain enemies. There are a total of 154 character and enemy profiles, including the 9 different variations of [[Warp Jizou]].

[[Tobira Majin]], [[King Tobira Majin]] and the residents of the [[Amy Kingdom]] other than [[Mattel]] shown in the [[Opening]] are not included in the Picture Book. [[Kujira Papa]] and the [[Kujira Children]], although [[character]]s are listed with the enemies rather than under [[Friends]], probably because they are found in [[Thousand Year Hill]]'s [[Area]] 1 itself.

[[Area]]s that enemies appear in, as well as the Areas that the player has to go to for a relevant character after meeting them in the [[Map (Areas)#Densetsu no Starfy 4|City]] as given in the [[Nintendo Official Guidebook]] are also listed. There are a few characters that are met in the Areas themselves. These are indicated as such within brackets.

'''Toxic Swamps''' are poisonous, purple waters which are harmful to [[Starfy]] and [[Starly]]. The player must usually use a vehicle to avoid harm from the swamp, or in the case of ''[[The Legendary Starfy]]'', light emitted from a [[Glowing Mushroom]] to absorb the poison. The [[Capfish]] is useful in this case, as it always has a Glowing Mushroom attached to its head. Alternatively, the player can hop across on [[Giant Acorns]]. When Starfy or Starly walk on an acorn, it will roll, so the player has to be careful not to fall in. In ''The Legendary Starfy'' the player can also use the [[Air Jump]] and [[Glide]] abilities to jump across the swamp.

==In ''[[Densetsu no Starfy 2]]''==
In ''Densetsu no Starfy 2'', [[Torito]] teaches Starfy how to ride [[Sukebon]]. Sukebon is regularly used throughout the game to cross both toxic swamps and lava. Falling into a toxic swamp without Sukebon causes Starfy to start over from the beginning of the room.

==In ''[[Densetsu no Starfy 3]]''==
In ''Densetsu no Starfy 3'', toxic swamps appear in [[Flamer Volcano]] in level 2. They cause Starfy or Starly to lose one health point if they touch the water. Platforms may appear on top of the water. A torrent of poisonous water will push the platforms up.

The '''Amy Kingdom''' (Japanese: アミー王国) is the main setting of ''[[Densetsu no Starfy 4]]'', and each of its nine stages. It is relatively close to [[Pufftop]]. Its main landmark is the [[Amy Castle]]; a castle built on the ground surrounding the sea. The Amy Castle is the home of [[Coral]], [[Mattel]], the doors [[Yukinomon]], [[Shinjitsunomon]], [[Yuujonounomon]] and in the ''[[Densetsu no Starfy R]]'' [[manga]], various [[Gatekeeper]]s who are protected by their helmets, spears and shields.

In the events of ''Densetsu no Starfy 4'', the Amy Castle's precious [[Monamool Stone]] was stolen by the snake [[Dejiru]], who wanted to exploit its powers and marry Coral. In the process, Dejiru transformed the Amy Castle into a castle of her own known as [[Dejiru's Castle]]. [[Moe]] heard of the event, and invited Mattel over to [[Pufftop|Pufftop Palace]] to tell [[Starfy]], [[Starly]] and others about the tragedy. Starfy, Starly and others then travel to the Amy Kingdom to rescue the Amy Castle, while Dejiru uses the Monamool Stone to watch over their actions.

[[Old Man Lobber]] owns a cottage in the Amy Kingdom known as [[Lobber's Cottage]]; which is the first stage in the game. Moe brings his house over to the Amy Kingdom, which later becomes accessible in [[Cupid Village]]. He is fought at the end of [[Tear Lake]] and can inflate himself to huge sizes. Although he is a fish, it always wears a swimming mask for some reason. It takes a total of 15 [[Star Spin]]s for [[Starfy]] to defeat him.

==Attack patterns==
Fugush uses his needles to protect himself against Starfy. Just touching Fugush when he is fully protected by the needles on his body will cause Starfy to lose 10 health points. One of Fugush's attacks involves charging into Starfy, although no additional health points are lost if Fugush touches Starfy as opposed to just Starfy drifting into him.

Another one of Fugush's attacks involves him waiting at either the left or right edge of the area and spawning three [[wikipedia:sea urchin|sea urchin]] like creatures at the opposite side of the screen, or two pairs of sea urchins if Fugush has a low amount of health points left. Fugush will also create a current dragging Starfy in the direction towards the sea urchins, which makes the sea urchins themselves look like they are struggling to hang on, although Starfy can perform a [[Turbo Swim]] to act against the current with the [[Star Spin#Mighty Star Spin|Mighty Star Spin]] and/or simply hold down on the D-Pad and wait until the current disappears and the sea urchins vanish. Alternatively, Starfy can wait in a gap between the three or four sea urchins, although he still has to swim upwards to prevent himself from falling to the bottom of the ocean floor. If Starfy makes contact with one of the sea urchins, he will lose 12 health points.

Eventually, Fugush will wear himself out, flash red, blue and green and release its needles in all directions. When Fugush is exposed, it is possible for Starfy to attack him using a Star Spin and make him lose up to about four health points until he retracts the needles back into his body. At lower health points, Fugush will release its needles only slightly but then bring them back into its body and eject them at higher speed. When Fugush has a critically low amount of health points left, it will fire needles which will actually follow Starfy.

Fugush like many bosses has a hidden attack which he will only start using when he has a lower amount of hitpoints left. Fugush may inflate itself up in the middle of the area and drop himself on to the ocean floor. This causes boulders to fall from the ground, which make Starfy lose 11 health points if he touches one.

Prior to the release of the game, a contest called [[Wanted Kisekae]] was held where participants could send in illustrations of [[Stuff]] to [[Nintendo]] and have the chance to have their drawings featured in the credits or made into one of the 20 Special Stuff in the final game. There were six winning entrants.

==Story==

The story of ''Densetsu no Starfy 4'' takes place some time after the events of ''[[Densetsu no Starfy 3]]''.

Back in [[Pufftop|Pufftop Palace]], times were once again peaceful. [[Starly]] was drawing pictures on the carpet, while [[Starfy]] and [[Papa Star]] were resting. It was finally all nice and quiet. Suddenly however, [[Moe]] ran through the doors of Pufftop Palace, saying there was serious trouble. Papa Star asked "what's the matter?" and wondered whether Moe had come to play. Moe said there was [[Mattel|a girl]] at the entrance of Pufftop. Starly thought Moe was teasing. Moe called Starly a 'fool'. The girl was then let into the throne room. The girl thanked Pufftop for their help and introduced herself as [[Mattel]] from the [[Amy Kingdom]]. [[Mama Star]] wondered where the Amy Kingdom was and noted that Mattel had come from quite far away. Mattel begged everyone to help save the Amy Kingdom.

A scene shows the events of the Amy Kingdom before the crisis. It reveals that there is a mystical stone known as the [[Monamool Stone]] that was passed down with care as a protector of the Amy Kingdom. The residents of the Amy Kingdom lived happily in peace, guarded by the Monamool Stone. One day however, the Monamool Stone was stolen by [[Dejiru|someone]]! The thief caused calamity across the Amy Kingdom with the force of the Monamool Stone, transforming the [[Amy Castle]] into a castle of her own and setting buildings on fire. The thief was surely plotting an evil plan against the kingdom of some sort. Mattel, who is a maid from the Amy Kingdom had somehow escaped.

While Starfy was sleeping, Starly asked Mattel why she had come to Pufftop. Mattel replied that she had previously heard of the success of [[Starfy]] and that Prince Starfy was brave to have defeated huge evil. Mattel asks everyone in the area to please ask Starfy to save the Amy Kingdom. Starly then wakes Starfy up and tells him to help Mattel. Moe then gets angry and argues that another adventure is unfavorable. Moe says from now on Starfy and him are going to play and Starfy brings out a [[Nintendo DS]]. Starly goes behind Moe's back and teases Moe saying he is stupid as usual. Starly starts to talk about [[Ruby]], so Moe reconsiders and starts to get excited about meeting her in the Amy Kingdom. Moe says they should go and hear what the [[Old Man Lobber]] has to say first. Mama Star then tells Starfy, Starly and Moe that Old Man Lobber has a [[Lobber's Cottage|cottage]] in the Amy Kingdom. Mama Star asks Starfy, Starly and Moe to be back by dinner.

Meanwhile, the thief is overlooking Starfy, Starly and Moe using the power of the Monamool Stone. She is revealed to be an evil serpent-like creature, who considers Starfy as her main enemy. Starfy, Starly and Moe jump off of Pufftop and land into [[Lobber's Cottage]], straight into Old Man Lobber's bonsai, ruining it. This upsets Old Man Lobber who misses his "cute bonsai". Old Man Lobber mentions the Monamool Stone as a mystical stone in the Amy Kingdom and starts thinking about it, so Starly wonders if someone had stolen it. Starfy has unfortunately forgot most of his abilities, so Old Man Lobber suggests that Starfy should relearn his basic abilities using the signboards in the first level. Old Man Lobber asks Starfy to find a [[Repair Kit]] to fix his bonsai.

Moe suggests that they should first meetup with people in the [[City]], so Starfy, Starly and Moe talk to the [[Mermaid]] who tells them about saving, a [[Warp Jizou]] and [[King Warp Jizou]] who tell them about the [[Warp Jizou (ability)|Warp Jizou]] and [[Return to the City]] abilities.

After Starfy, Starly and Moe find the Repair Kit, they use it to fix Old Man Lobber's bonsai. Old Man Lobber says that he does not know who stole the Monamool Stone yet, and advises that in order to track down the culprit they should go to a variety of Cities and listen to what everyone has to say. Old Man Lobber reminds Starfy about [[Stuff]] and tells him that various dress-up items can be viewed from the Pause Menu, and that they can be obtained by finishing favors from other characters. Old Man Lobber then gives Starfy, Starly and Moe the [[Densetsu no Starfy 4/Stuff#Clothes|Shimashima Swimsuit]].

Starfy, Starly and Moe must complete stages and solve the problems of various characters, including familiar characters who have visited the Amy Kingdom and characters that they have never seen before. In the process they will collect Stuff, gather information about the thief, learn new abilities, including magical powers called "[[Spill]]", defeat bosses sent by the thief and visit a variety of stages. Their ultimate goal is to defeat the thief and bring peace back to the Amy Kingdom.

The Picture Book menu is available as an option in [[Moe's House]] after beating [[Dejiru]] for the first time by selecting the bookcase under Moe's telephone. 55 entries are available by default in their own separate 'friend' category, however Starfy or Starly have to defeat individual enemies to get the first 99 registered in the Picture Book. The game takes into account the enemies Starfy and Starly defeated before finishing the main story game, but as with previous games there are a few [[Rare Enemies]] which only appear after the game has been completed at least once. The rare enemies may be found by revisiting certain levels in the game, and through answering [[Tobira Majin]]'s answer cards, in which Tobira Majin will lead the player to a secret rooms of the [[Area]].

After [[Starfy]] defeats [[Dejiru]] for the first time, the player can unlock pieces of music for a menu called the [[Sea Jams]] (Legendary Concert) available from [[Moe's House]]. These can be unlocked by purchasing them separately from [[Maniankou]]'s Shop and locating them in blue treasure chests for a total of 56 tracks. Specials are costumes that portray a certain motif which cannot be worn with Clothes or Accessories. There are 20 Special items, 6 of which are winning costumes from the [[Wanted Kisekae]] contest.

"Clothes" and "Accessories" are categories which were previously featured in ''[[Densetsu no Starfy 2]]'' and ''[[Densetsu no Starfy 3]]''. Clothes are the basic items that [[Starfy]] and [[Starly]] can wear, while Accessories are objects that can be worn/held with Clothes. There are 40 Clothes and 40 Accessories in this game.

The Wanted Kisekae contest was a contest that began prior to the release of ''Densetsu no Starfy 4'', where fans could mail over their design for a costume over to Nintendo's headquarters with a chance of their costume being featured in the final game.

Eighteen runner-up designs which did not become Stuff, were featured in ''Densetsu no Starfy 4'''s Staff Roll 1.

I'm fairly sure 'ひきさきぬま' refers to how the lake/pond/swamp kind of resembles a tear in the landscape (not the liquid but like a tear after pulling something apart) but this is an educated guess. If you look at it from the [[Stage Select]] or the [[Map (Areas)|City]], it forms a 'C' like shape. I think your translation may have been out of context, as according to [http://www.tanoshiijapanese.com/dictionary/entry_details.cfm?entry_id=15920&element_id=24428&conjugation_type_id=10 here], 'hikisaki' also means to tear up.

Starfy and Moe later catch up with Puchi Ogura #6. Puchi Ogura #6 talks to Wotsaruto for a short while, before grabbing Wotsaruto and walking off with him/her. After catching up with Kigurumi again, Moe intervenes and challenges Kigurumi. Moe shouts something very loudly, causing the area to shake itself and rocks to fall from the ceiling. This frightens not only Kigurumi, but also Starfy and Wotsaruto to the extent that Puchi Ogura #6 drops the Kigurumi and reveals himself to Moe, Starfy and Wotsaruto and flees, revealing a [[Key (Densetsu no Starfy 2 item)|Key]] which opens several keyholes around the area, one of which leads to the treasure chest containing the [[Densetsu no Starfy 2/Stuff#Clothes|Kombu Mawashi]] at the end of the Stage 6-1.

After defeating [[Ogura]] for the first time, a sound test option is available in [[Moe's House]]. When music is played, Wotsaruto appears to be playing it with the Tone of Ocean, and Moe appears to be singing the song.

Starfy, [[Starly]] and Moe meet Wotsaruto in [[Gabun Ocean Trench]] (Stage 7-3) where he/she is playing the Tone of Ocean. He/she claims that a lullaby from the Tone of Ocean is able to put someone to sleep but it doesn't work on putting [[Gabun]] to sleep, shocking Wotsaruto.

Starly suggests one would be tired to hear the same song over and over again. Wotsaruto suggests that he/she and Starfy, Starly and Moe should form a "[[Legendary Band]]" (Japanese: でんせつのバンド) in which legendary instruments (Japanese: でんせつのがっき) are to be played, so Wotsaruto leaves them to locate three legendary instruments. They find the [[Legendary Guitar]], the [[Legendary Bass]] and the [[Legendary Drums]] and form a rock band. Wotsaruto wants to use a guitar he/she recently bought but Starfy is already using the Legendary Guitar, so Wotsaruto gives the [[Densetsu no Starfy 3/Stuff#Accessories|guitar]] to Starfy as an [[Stuff|accessory]]. Starly apparently doesn't like Wotsaruto's Tone of Ocean, so Moe turns it into a saxophone called the [[Ocean Saxophone]], which Wotsaruto uses in the band. When they rock out, Gabun enjoys the music a lot and it causes him to fall asleep.

In ''Densetsu no Starfy 4'', [[Starfy]], [[Starly]] and [[Moe]] encounter Jojiro on the [[Thousand Year Hill]] map. Jojiro explains that several of his minions have been brainwashed by [[Dejiru]], and asks Starfy to eliminate several [[Sand Snark#Red-eyed Sand Snarks|red-eyed Sand Snarks]] in Stage 7-3. He then teaches [[Starfy]] the [[Star Spin#Ultra Star Spin|Ultra Star Spin]].
