Hint Memo 2 (Japanese: ヒントメモ2) is an item in Densetsu no Starfy 2. It is found in Pitch Dark Cave (Stage 6-5). It is one of three notes that contain a phrase. The phrase for Hint Memo 2 is 'freshwater clam' (Japanese: シジミ). When Starfy obtains all of the Hint Memos, upon returning to Moe he will have to pick the correct password from the Hint Memo phrases to open the red, green and blue doors set up by 6 that block Starfy's path. The other two notes are the Hint Memo 1 (Japanese: ヒントメモ1) and the Hint Memo 3 (Japanese: ヒントメモ3). Hint Memo 2's phrase is the correct password to open the door.

The Hint Memo 2 is found through the middle-most door north of the room containing the red, green and blue doors. It will be dropped by a Bu.
Gaganmo is, according to Moe, a giant flying squirrel. He/she appears in Densetsu no Starfy 2, Densetsu no Starfy 3 and Densetsu no Starfy 4. He/she usually holds Oden and wears his/her Giant Flying Squirrel Mantle. Gaganmo lost the Oden in Densetsu no Starfy 3 and had his/her Giant Flying Squirrel Mantle damaged by Konk, so Starfy, Starly and Moe have to get new ones.

In Densetsu no Starfy 4, Gaganmo may make a minor appearance as one of the possible enemies on the Tree of Beginning map that can be tapped on the touch screen for Pearls.

Name Origin
Gaganmo's name is a reversal of the word モモンガ/鼯鼠, or the Pteromys momonga, the Japanese dwarf flying squirrel, as well as Ganmodoki, a food that the character himself loves to eat.

Trivia
*Gaganmo uses the pronoun Boku in Japanese.
*In Japanese, the Glide ability is referred to as the "Momonga" Jump in Starfy 1. However, starting with Gaganmo teaching Starfy the Glide, it was changed to the "Musasabi" Jump. (They both reference flying squirrels, but the latter references the Japanese giant flying squirrel instead of the dwarf flying squirrel).
Letter 1 (Japanese: おてがみ1) is an item in Densetsu no Starfy 2. It is found in Slippery Ice Alpine (Stage 4-1). It is one of two letters of reconciliation that are both given to Starfy by Kuriore at the same time. The other letter is Letter 2 (Japanese: おてがみ2).

In the story, Kuriore and two other Jellato Sisters, Kuriora and Kyuuriore were attacked by 4's fire-breath and separated. To know that they are well, Kuriore expects both sisters to leave a reply. Letter 1 must be given to Kuriora and exchanged for the Reply 1.
Horun is a character who resembles an ammonite with bird wings and rabbit ears. He only appears in Densetsu no Starfy and Densetsu no Starfy 2.
Once he realizes who he really is, he helps him and Moe find Pufftop. Horun reveals that Pufftop was once part of Undersea Temple.
In Densetsu no Starfy 2, Horun is found in Area 4 of Yo-Ho Mountains. Moe asks Horun where the 'Yellow Puchi Ogura' is (7) and Horun replies that he saw someone in the clouds just below Pufftop (Yo-Ho Mountains Area 5). He tells Starfy how to get past the Demeka.

Horun is later found in Area 5 with Starfy, Moe and Puchi Ogura #7. Puchi Ogura #7 throws a bomb that makes a hole in the ground, separating Starfy and Moe from Horun. Horun tells them that he is waiting later on. Starfy and Moe catch up with Horun at the boss door after entering several rooms and dodging Puchi Ogura #7's bombs.

Trivia
Horun's design is likely based on early 19th century reconstructions of ammonites. They were depicted as having dorsal tentacles resembling rabbit ears, which they used as sails to travel across the ocean surface. These reconstructions were based on the widely believed behavior of argonauts, extant animals that visually resemble ammonites. In truth, argonauts use their dorsal tentacles to create their shell-like egg cases, and ammonites likely never had the feature in the first place.
The Ocean Saxophone (Japanese: 海のサックス) is an item in Densetsu no Starfy 3 that was made by Moe in Gabun Ocean Trench (Stage 7-3). It is one of the four instruments Starfy and others play in the Legendary Band. The others are the Legendary Guitar (played by Starfy), the Legendary Bass (played by Starly) and the Legendary Drums (played by Moe). Moe turned the Tone of Ocean into it because Starly apparently didn't think the Tone of Ocean was suitable.
Hirao and Hirarin give it to Starfy after he gives them the Shovel. Shinigami is an enemy that cannot be defeated and only appears in the background as a 3D model in Densetsu no Starfy 4. It only appears in one level of Degil's Castle. Shinigami will gradually get closer to the player character and deplete half of the player's hit points as soon as it gets close enough. The only way to repel it back is by touching the chandelier in the level and the blinding light will back it away towards the back of the room. The Shinigami's 2D sprite will appear in the Picture Book.

Trivia
*If the player has 1 HP and Shinigami strikes the player, the player won't take any damage, since 1 divided by 2 is equal to 0.5 and the game automatically rounds it down to 0 leading to a total of 0 damage done to the player. Thus, it is impossible for Shinigami to defeat the player, since 0.5 will be rounded down to 0 every time leading to the damage animation and effect to not activate at all.
*Shinigami is also the strongest and weakest enemy in the game dealing a total of 125 HP if the player's HP is full and fully upgraded (which is the highest any enemy and boss can deal to the player) to as low as 0, which is lower than some of the enemies can do in the first couple stages if the player's HP is at 1. The only other enemy that can deal as much and as less damage is Degil's swallow attack in her first form.
The Coral Table (Japanese: さんごのテーブル) is an item in Densetsu no Starfy 2. When Starfy approaches one of these items, the game will ask whether the player wants to collect it.

In the story, Ruby asks Starfy to find her some furniture, including the Vase of Roses, the Coral Table and the Shell Chair. Ruby accepts the Coral Table from Starfy and asks him to locate the other remaining furniture. Bringing her all three correct furniture lets Starfy enter the door that leads to the Showy Showy Costume Treasure.
Gekojii is an elderly blue frog who seems to be a chemist of sorts. In Densetsu no Starfy 1 and 3, he gives Starfy a drug so he can learn the Ultra Star Spin. In Densetsu no Starfy 3 he lends Starfy his old guitar, the Legendary Guitar, so he, Moe, and Starly can put Gabun to sleep. He makes a cameo appearance in Densetsu no Starfy 4 on Old Tower's City, where he can be touched for 5 Pearls. Although Gekojii does not appear in person in Densetsu no Starfy 2, he is referenced in Gekyojii's Picture Book description as being his "distant relative."

In Densetsu no Starfy 3
After Wozart fails to put Gabun to sleep with the Tone of Ocean, Starfy, Starly, and Moe look for the three Legendary Instruments. Starfy goes off to find the Legendary Guitar, running into Gekojii, who was looking for it as well. He says that he was the one who originally buried the guitar, but is much too old to retrieve it now. He decides to let Starfy have the instrument after he finds it and shows it to him, while also giving Starfy the Power-Up Medicine so he can learn the Ultra Star Spin in order to find it easier. Starfy finds the Legendary Guitar before the medicine’s effects wore off and shows Gekojii. He begins to reminisce, giving Starfy the guitar and some sunglasses to make him look cool when playing.

It is revealed in a short talk during post game that Gekojii is thinking about reviving the Legendary Band while the other two members (Gekyojii and Jiilacanth) simply continue to reminisce about the Legendary Band’s hay day.

Name Origin
*Gekojii's name comes from Geko (ゲコ), onomatopoeia for a croak or ribbit (though not as popular as Kero/ケロ) and Jiisan (爺さん), or "old man".

Trivia
*Gekojii, like many old men in the series, uses the pronoun Washi in Japanese.
*Unlike his distant relative, Gekyojii, Gekojii croaks/ribbits in conversation (in Japanese, he simply adds "Geko" to the end of his sentences). This is exclusive to the first game, however.
**Ex: おおう！よくもどって来たぞゲコ！大せいこうゲコ！(Ohhh! You made it back-croak! It's a great success-croak!)
Together, they operate the conveyor belt on a machine that moves bowls of kakigōri across the room, which Starfy or Starly can then use as platforms to cross spikes. The child penguin runs on the conveyer belt, but the adult penguin does not treat him very nicely, and continuously strikes him with a whip for him to continue.
*She is unnamed in the games, much like her children except Moe. Moe refers to her as かあちゃん, or literally "Mother/Mom"
*In Densetsu no Starfy 4, when inspecting the picture of Moe's mother and father (simply called "Photo" in game) in Moe's House, Moe mentions that Kyorozou and his mother met while taking a walk in/near Lobber's Cave.
*Starfy 4 is the only game where she has a sprite (seen in the Photo in Moe's House), having what seems to be a flower (or some other pink object) on her shell.
*Moe and his mother are one of only a handful clams in the series that share a shell color. The other being one of Moe's siblings and Kyorozou.
For the item in Densetsu no Starfy, please see Delicious Cake

The Cake (Japanese: ケーキ) is an object in Densetsu no Starfy 4, found in Flourishing Desert (Stage 6-2). In the story, Plum has a bad habit of eating too much food, so Chiwan asks Starly to lure Plum into a cage with Cake.

The Cake is initially found under a large dish cover. When Starly removes the dish cover with a Star Spin it reveals the Cake and Plum begins to follow it. If Plum touches the cake he will eat it and disappear. This causes the dish cover with the Cake to reappear in its original position.

Starly must push the cake around the area until it is underneath a cage. If Plum comes too close to the cake Starly can make him temporarily disappear by attacking him with a Star Spin. When the Cake is pushed underneath the cage, it is dropped on Plum, causing him to withdraw back into his lamp, which is then collected by Starly.
