This article is about Moe's actual house and the menu. For the tune, see Moe's House (music).

Moe's House (Japanese: キョロスケさまのいえ, Kyorosuke-sama's House) refers to the houses in the Legendary Starfy games that Moe and his siblings reside. Moe looks after his siblings in his house. Moe does not always stay at his house and often stays with Starfy and other citizens of Pufftop at Pufftop Palace.

Moe's House is never shown in The Legendary Starfy.

In the games

Appearance and location

Moe's House is depicted in Densetsu no Starfy, Densetsu no Starfy 2 and Densetsu no Starfy 4 as a cave with a signboard next to it that has Moe on it. In Densetsu no Starfy 3, Moe's House is depicted differently; as a 'wooden' box with a roof. Moe's eyes stick out of it in Densetsu no Starfy 3 and official Stage Map artwork from the Densetsu no Starfy 3 instruction manual.

Densetsu no Starfy

In Densetsu no Starfy, it is a cave somewhere underwater that is in a poor state with cobwebs, a cabinet with a broken drawer and holes in the walls. It can only be seen during the credits. Here Moe used treasure to afford to get his siblings food, a teddy bear and a Game Boy Advance.

Densetsu no Starfy 2

It is the same cave as in Densetsu no Starfy. It is a cave depicted on the Turtle Turtle Land map as being above the water, but in the second Staff Credits, the screen being skewed slightly in one direction and then the other (as if there is an underwater current) suggests it is underwater. It is likely the same cave from Densetsu no Starfy as there is an almost identical room.

Densetsu no Starfy 3

In Densetsu no Starfy 3, Moe's House appears to be either at Coral Coast or nearby it. It is in a much better state than in the previous games.

Densetsu no Starfy 4

In Densetsu no Starfy 4 Moe's House may be located nearby Lobber's Villa as it is placed in between there and Old Tower on the Stage Select menu. It can be renovated twice, firstly for 5000 Pearls and secondly for 9999 Pearls.

Moe's former house

Moe, Moe's mother and Moe's siblings being forced to leave their old house.

Moe's former house is the house in the Legendary Starfy series that Moe originally lived in with his father (Kyorozou), his mother and his siblings.

There is a light, a clock, a fireplace, shelves and a television with a coral like 'antenna' on it there. The way that the ground looks outside of the house may suggest that it is located at or near Coral Reef or Sea of Beginning or another place from a later game like Coral Coast, although this seems less likely.

According to Staff Roll 2 of Densetsu no Starfy 2 Moe and his mother lived in this house. Kyorozou and Moe's mother seemed to have a good relationship initially, but Moe's mother became angry after Kyorozou started to watch television with a canned drink next to him (possibly liquor) and also became angry when he was facing away from Moe's mother with a golf club thought bubble.

Kyorozou and Moe's mother fell out after both became angry with each other. While Kyorozou was still angry, Moe and Moe's mother than moved to a less accommodating home in an underwater cave.

Moe's House menu

Moe's House is a menu Densetsu no Starfy 2, Densetsu no Starfy 3, and Densetsu no Starfy 4 with a background based on Moe's actual house.

It is like Extra! from Densetsu no Starfy and Moe's Case from The Legendary Starfy. Inside Moe's house players can look at treasure, music, the Picture Book, and more. The Moe's House menu is not available in the first and last The Legendary Starfy series games.

In Densetsu no Starfy, the Extra! menu is similar to Moe's House but the Picture Book, Treasure Items, Minigames and Photograph options are stored on the List instead.

Unlocking the menu

  • In Densetsu no Starfy 2, it appears on the Turtle Turtle Land map after clearing area 5 (the exit). It can then be accessed from the map of any stage via the R button.
  • In Densetsu no Starfy 3, it becomes available via the R button after clearing Coral Coast's area 3.
  • In Densetsu no Starfy 4, it is accessible in Cupid Village after exposing Akureima's disguise of Ruby and then rescuing the real Ruby. It can then be accessed from any City or from the Stage Select either by touching its icon or via the R button. In this game, the player can renovate Moe's House firstly for 5000 Pearls and secondly for 9999 Pearls. Renovating the house will improve the state of the objects in the room and results in some new objects. Renovating Moe's House twice will give the player the Old Man Lobber shirt. Before Moe's House is redecorated, a photograph of Moe's mother can be seen. When it's been redecorated once, a photograph of Kyorozou can be seen. When it's been redecorated twice, a photograph of both of Moe's parents can be seen.

Below are the available options in the Moe's House menu.

Densetsu no Starfy 4

Moe's House in Densetsu no Starfy 4

Like in Densetsu no Starfy 3, the player has to select actual objects in Moe's House to view their description and/or go to the relevant menu. Unlike Densetsu no Starfy 3, a star-shaped cursor that is controlled with the d-pad or touch screen is used to select them and the options do not necessarily go clockwise or anti-clockwise.

  • Chabudai - A chabudai with an object on it. It becomes more posh after being redecorated. Selecting it leads nowhere. Before the house has been redecorated, what appears to be a bowl of rice appears out of it when the chabudai is selected. When the house has been redecorated twice, a pot of roses appears out of it instead.
  • Ending 1 - A television. It becomes more posh after being redecorated. Selecting it plays the first ending that is available after clearing the game once. The character on the television varies. Before the house has been redecorated, Old Man Lobber appears on the television. When the house has been redecorated twice, Papa Star appears on it.
  • ???? (1) - A chandelier. It only appears after redecorating. Selecting it leads nowhere.

  • ???? (4) - A pink video that only appears at some point after persistently selecting the crack in the wall. It leads nowhere.

  • Picture Book - A set of books. Selecting it lets the player view the Picture Book, where descriptions of different characters Starfy and Starly have met and descriptions of different enemies they have defeated can be viewed. Before the house has been renovated twice, there appear to be four books but when the house has been renovated twice there are only two. This does not affect the contents of the Picture Book, though.

In the Densetsu no Starfy (Yumiko Sudō) manga

In chapter seven of volume one; Making Money Fii!, Moe's House is found somewhere underwater. Moe claimed that it had countless rooms.

It is a rundown house where Moe, Moe's siblings, Kyorozou and Moe's mother live. It has damaged walls, a bed and a toilet, a kettle and a box full of things in the entry hall. Starfy overhears that Moe's mother didn't have any money for medicine, so he tries to make money for Moe himself.

In chapter six of volume two; Get Mama Back Fii!, there is a house in a place out of water near Ogura Castle that looks exactly like Moe's House.
