Miiverse is an official Nintendo community in which players of games on Nintendo 3DS and Wii U can share their experiences online, often with support for taking in-game screenshots for many games.
Miiverse features its own "communities" for each compatible game, in which users can post their own content.
Miiverse was originally created for use with the Wii U console, but a later software update for the Nintendo 3DS added support for Miiverse so that Nintendo 3DS players could also share their experiences, draw/post artwork, and share screenshots. The user can also choose from a variety of expressions on their Mii to go alongside the message they post.
In addition to accessing it from a Wii U or Nintendo 3DS, Miiverse can also be accessed from a computer provided that the user has a Nintendo Network account.
In the official announcement for Miiverse, Nintendo introduced the "Yeah" button similar to the "Like" button, and this was implied as a means of expressing empathy for relatable experiences.
In addition to posts from the general public, various game developers have also shared posts such as interviews. One of the most well known examples was arguably Masuhiro Sakurai's (director of Super Smash Bros.) Director's Room posts, about the then upcoming Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS.
Relevance to the The Legendary Starfy series
Since the Game Boy Advance series of Legendary Starfy games were re-released on Japan's Wii U Virtual Console, Nintendo created Miiverse communities for Densetsu no Starfy, Densetsu no Starfy 2 and Densetsu no Starfy 3.
Since then a large number of posts have been published on these communities, including much fan artwork.
Curiously, while the titles of the Densetsu no Starfy and Densetsu no Starfy 3 communities are in kanji and katakana, the title of the Densetsu no Starfy 2 community is the romanized Japanese "Densetsu no Stafy 2". The significance of this is unknown, although there are other Japan-only titles with romanized names as well, such as the Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru and Trade & Battle: Card Hero community (with at least the latter being romanized as such before).
