The Antibuddies are five germs that appear in Densetsu no Starfy. When Starfy first meets them they are all gray in color, but when he gives them a cake they regain their color, giving them the power to rescue Yakoukagami from some spiked enemies. They are found inside The Whale.

Name Origin

• JP: The name Zendama could derive from both zendama (善玉), a word meaning good people (as they are heroic and help Lumi), as well as, and more likely, zendamakin (善玉菌), meaning good germ or good bacteria.
• Fan name: Their name is obviously a pun using the words "antibodies" and "buddies". This makes sense, since they live inside a living creature's stomach.

Trivia

• After giving the Antibuddies the Delicious Cake, their name goes from Zendama to "The Zendama Five", and turn 5 different colors: red, yellow, blue, green, and pink. This could be a reference to the very common color choices many Super Sentai series, the series Power Rangers derives from, make their main cast.
