King Warp Jizou is a grand-looking statue that has only appeared in Densetsu no Starfy 4, and is the leader of all the Warp Jizou. Like the Warp Jizou he seems to be based on Jizo, the Japanese depiction of Ksitigarbha; a divinity who traditionally appears a guardian of children.

King Warp Jizou appears near the start of nearly every Area, with an exception being Area 4 of Tree of Beginning prior to beating the game. He will always serve as a destination point when Starfy or Starly find a Warp Jizou, however, he can't take Starfy and Starly to a Warp Jizou nor can he be interacted in any way in an Area.

In Densetsu no Starfy 4

Before Starfy can go to the first Area of Lobber's Villa, he must talk to Mermaid as well as a Warp Jizou and a Warp Jizou King. They introduce themselves as the great Warp Jizou and the Warp Jizou King, who is “greater than he” (referring to the Warp Jizou). They explain how to warp to Starfy, but inform him that you cannot warp from a Warp Jizou to a Warp Jizou King, saying to remember that Warp Jizou are entrances while Kings are exits.

Talking to the Warp Jizou and Warp Jizou King after clearing 1-1, they will inform Starfy about Tobiramajin, but say that he isn’t strong enough to open them. After clearing 1-2, the duo will then tell Starfy about Heart Gems, with the Warp Jizou King saying that he is greater than Heart Gems.

In Post Game

Talking to the Warp Jizou and Warp Jizou King in post game will cause them to talk about the Tobiramajin some more, telling Starfy about how Tobiramajin will open if he can solve their riddles. Warp Jizou King boasts again, and says he’ll tell Starfy the riddle of 1-1’s Tobiramajin (something the Warp Jizou actually does), but says that Starfy will have to find out the other riddles on his own.

Trivia

  • The Warp Jizou King you talk to in Lobber's Villa, like many old men in the series, uses the pronoun Washi in Japanese.
    • However, unlike the many old characters that use it, they do not have the honorific Jii (じい) or Jiisan じいさん) in their name.
  • The title of “King” is only given to Warp Jizou who have “risen to the top” (most likely corporately) according to the ninth Secret Talk.
  • The Warp Jizou in the Hint & Item Screen hates the Warp Jizou King because of his gaudiness according to the eighth Secret Talk.
