Woopal is an enemy in Densetsu no Starfy 4. It looks angry and chases Starfy or Starly when it sees them, but it doesn't react to Angler at all.

Woopal seems to be based on axolotl, a species of neotenic salamander which remain aquatic and gilled, keeping flat tails.

Trivia

Name origin

  • Possibly a truncation of wooper looper (ウーパールーパー, Ūpā Rūpā), a marketing term in Japan and other countries for axolotl. The name of the Pokémon Wooper (Japanese: ウパー Upah) is a notable play on "wooper looper".
